"GRAM" Micro-Story☟

Gram looked at all the rotting zombie limbs and for a moment felt sad. She walked over to the food court and reflected on her haunted surroundings. She had always hated this Texas town with its deafening, drab dead malls. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel sad.

Then she saw something in the distance. It was the figure of yet another dead mall filled with zombies and other deranged monsters with deformed arms and diseased guts.

Gram gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a quiet, boring, tea drinker with her own decomposing arms and rotting guts (old age). Her friends saw her as a squealing, successful sweet. Once, she had even revived a dying, old candy shop inside the local mall.

But not even a dying, old candy shop that had once been revived by Gram was prepared for what this dead mall had in store today.

The dreary teased like running wolf, making Gram tired.

As Gram stepped inside and zombies came closer, she could see their rotting skin glistening in her eyes.

"I am here because I want soul," the dead mall bellowed, in an empty tone. He slammed his fist against Gram's chest, with the force of 7196 witches. "I frigging hate you, Gram ."

Gram looked back, even more tired and still fingering one fallen zombie. "dead mall, so many memories," she replied.

They looked at each other with grumpy feelings, like two zany, zealous zombie lovers scared at a very troubled funeral, which had punk music playing in the background and two lost uncles possessed to the beat.

Gram studied their deformed arms and diseased guts. Eventually, she took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, but I can't give you soul," she explained, in pitying tones.

Dead mall looked angry, it’s structure raw and tired, with looming hungry tentacles about.

Gram could actually hear dead mall’s soul shatter into 127 pieces. Then the deranged monsters hurried away into the distance.

Not even a cup of tea would calm Gram's nerves tonight.
